Fos-a-dophilus is a 6-strain probiotic formula, ideally suited to young children and adults over 40 years of age, particularly women.

Probiotic bacteria are natural (friendly) inhabitants of our digestive system, where they serve as powerful immune system stimulators and regulators. Some of these have specific “anti-biotic” action against specific strains of pathogenic bacteria. Their correct balance is an essential component of health and immune function, which is often disturbed through administration of antibiotics and other chemical components that we encounter on a daily basis.

Fos-a-dophilus is high in bifido bacteria, which are species that colonise the mouth and large intestine: their presence ensures bio-balance and prevents the colonisation of pathogenic strains such as candida. Fos-a-dophilus also contains lactobacillus rhamnosus, a strain that colonises the female vagina, offering resistance to candida and helping to maintain healthy balance in this area. Lactobacillus acidophilus is also present, as this strain works In the small intestine. The product hence offers a wide range of strains that have effect throughout the whole alimentary tract including the mouth and female vagina. This product is most ideally suited to babies and adults over 40, who have a greater need for bifidophilus strains.All the strains are acid and bile resistant, and stable at room temperature.
